David van Heerden

David Van Heerden is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in materials engineering and applications, currently serving as the Global Applications Engineering Manager for the Advanced Materials Group at Materion Corporation since April 2013. In this role, David provides technical leadership and market insight to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative products through collaboration with research institutions and semiconductor R&D groups. Prior to this, David held significant positions at NanoMas Technologies, Inc. as Principal Materials Research Engineer, where product development led to significant industry advancements, and at ZT Plus as Principal Metallurgist, where David established a metallurgical laboratory for thermoelectric materials. David's earlier experience includes serving as Director of Development Engineering at Reactive NanoTechnologies, successfully scaling up nanomaterial technologies from conceptual stages to commercial products. David holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Cape Town.
