Maternity Care Coalition
Clare Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple organizations and roles. Clare began their career at Municipal Resource Recovery Systems in 2005 as a Manager, where they worked until 2012. Following that, they joined Philadelphia Young Playwrights as an Operations Manager, a position they held for four years. In 2016, they joined Maternity Care Coalition as an Operations Manager, and later took on the role of Director of Facilities & Administration in 2017. Clare currently serves as the Senior Director of Administrative Operations at Maternity Care Coalition.
Clare Hughes has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from DeSales University, which they earned from 2002 to 2006. Clare later pursued a Master of Science degree in Arts Administration from Drexel University, completing it from 2010 to 2012. In 2023, Clare attended Bryn Mawr College to obtain a Certificate in Non-Profit Executive Leadership Institute.

Since 1980, Maternity Care Coalition has assisted more than 145,000 families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, focusing particularly on neighborhoods with high rates of poverty, infant mortality, health disparities, and changing immigration patterns. We know a family’s needs change as they go through the pregnancy and their child’s first years and we offer a range of services and programs for every step along the way. Our Mission The mission of Maternity Care Coalition is to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women and parenting families, and enhance school readiness for children 0-3.
