Samantha Harclerode has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and organizations. Samantha is currently serving as the Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs at Maternity Care Coalition, where they oversee all external affairs and manages a team of 10 people focused on various aspects such as marketing, communications, fundraising, and grants. Prior to this role, Samantha worked as a Teaching Assistant at the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania.
Samantha also has extensive experience in the field of fundraising and philanthropy. As the Director and Associate Director of Young Alumni & Student Philanthropy Programs at The Penn Fund, Samantha led teams and developed initiatives to increase leadership giving, philanthropic education, and volunteer participation. Additionally, they worked as a Development Associate, soliciting annual gifts and conducting prospect research.
Samantha also has experience as a Faculty member at the Annual Giving Network, where they shared their expertise in fundraising. Samantha has also worked at ACHIEVEability as a Lead Academic Advisor, managing a team of tutors and developing educational curriculum for adult-learner students. Additionally, they served as a Coach, advocating for single-parent families experiencing homelessness and providing counseling support.
Earlier in their career, Samantha worked as a Lead Assistant Director at Grassroots Campaigns, where they directed fundraising and membership building campaigns for various organizations. Samantha also worked as a Project Manager and Grant Writer at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, managing projects and composing grants.

Samantha Harclerode has a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Samantha also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International/Global Studies from Susquehanna University. In addition, Samantha has a Fels School Certificate in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in International Studies with a focus on International Relations and Affairs from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Along with their academic achievements, Samantha has obtained a certification in Enhancing Trauma Awareness in December 2014.

Since 1980, Maternity Care Coalition has assisted more than 145,000 families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, focusing particularly on neighborhoods with high rates of poverty, infant mortality, health disparities, and changing immigration patterns. We know a family’s needs change as they go through the pregnancy and their child’s first years and we offer a range of services and programs for every step along the way.
