Irene M. has a diverse range of work experience. Irene started working at the European Commission in 2017 as an Expert and Rapporteur, focusing on cleantech calls and the EIC Accelerator program. In 2021, they became an Investor and Advisor for Amphibio LTD, a company developing sustainable outdoor performance textiles. In the same year, they also worked as an Angel Investor and Advisor for Hide Biotech. In 2022, Irene joined PDS Limited as an Investor specializing in sustainability and materials venture capital advising. Irene also became an Angel Investor and Advisor for saltyco® and Sojo. Additionally, Irene became a mentor at the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2022. Irene continued to expand their investment portfolio in 2023, becoming an Investor for Resortecs and BioFluff. In May 2022, Irene started working as the Business Development Lead at Materra, a planet-centric technology company focused on climate-resilient cotton agriculture.

Irene M. has an extensive education history. Irene began their educational journey in 2004 at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, where they pursued a Master's degree in Economics and International Management. Irene successfully completed this program in 2008.

Afterward, Irene attended Northeastern University between 2006 and 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Business.

In 2009, Irene furthered their education and enrolled in Imperial College London, specializing in Environmental Technology. Irene completed their studies in this field in 2010, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree.

Currently, Irene M. is a PHD candidate at UCL, focusing on Science and Technology Policy. Irene has been pursuing their doctorate since 2016 and is expected to complete their program in 2020.
