Gerald Skurski has extensive work experience in various roles. Gerald started their career at the University of Michigan Medical School as an Accounting & Finance Clerk / Procurement Assistant, where they handled tasks such as general ledger journal entries, expense tracking, and revenue reconciliation. Gerald then worked as a Research Associate at Employment Research Corporation, where they focused on economic modeling using Microsoft Access and Excel. After that, they joined the Internal Revenue Service as an Economist before transitioning to Mathematica. At Mathematica, they held roles as Senior Programmer Analyst and Senior Systems Analyst, where they led efforts in public reporting projects and utilized programming languages such as Visual Basic, SAS, SQL, and C#. Gerald later became a Senior Solutions Architect and is currently working as the Principal Solutions Architect at Mathematica, where they continue to explore innovative technologies and utilize their expertise in cost and quality metrics.
Gerald Skurski holds a Master of Arts degree in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, which they obtained from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, completing it between 2005 and 2008. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Skurski has obtained several certifications. These include being an AWS Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (obtained in 2018), a Certified Report Developer (CRD) for Microstrategy 9.4.1 from MicroStrategy (obtained in 2016), a Certified Project Designer (CPD) for Microstragey 9.4.1 also from MicroStrategy (obtained in 2015), and finally being a SAS Certified BI Content Developer for SAS 9 from SAS (also obtained in 2015).
