Shyam Joshi

Shyam Joshi, PhD, PE, is a Principal Training Engineer at MathWorks since December 2018, with a distinguished career in academia and research. Previously, Shyam served as the Dow Chemical Company Endowed Professor and Professor at Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge from 1995 to December 2018, teaching various engineering courses and conducting funded research projects. Shyam's research contributions include projects during fellowships at notable institutions such as the Air Force Institute of Technology, NASA Ames Research Center, and the Air Force Research Laboratory, focusing on combustion testing, prognostics of complex systems, and crack sensor simulations. Educational credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, a Master's degree from North Dakota State University, and a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
