Ellen Fogarty

Senior Product Designer - Growth at Matillion

Ellen Fogarty has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles in product design, research, and engineering. In 2012, they started as an Industrial Design Intern at OtterBox. Ellen later worked as a UX Intern at Soundwave, where they gained experience in qualitative and quantitative research and graphic design. In 2013, Ellen joined MyVolts as a Product Designer, specializing in consumer electronics and packaging design.

In 2014, Ellen worked as an Industrial Designer at Pace, contributing to all stages of product development and collaborating with cross-functional teams. At PMD Solutions from 2016 to 2017, they served as an Industrial Design Engineer, responsible for mechanical design, UX/UI, packaging, and marketing collateral.

Ellen joined Brakesoft Ltd in 2018 as a Graphic/UX Designer, focusing on UX design and also managing marketing collateral. In 2019, they joined SoftwareONE as a UX Designer & Researcher, and later became a Senior UX Designer & Researcher, working on user experience design and research.

In 2022, Ellen joined Intercom as a Product Researcher, contributing to product development. Most recently, they started working at Matillion in 2023 as a Senior Product Designer - Growth.

Ellen Fogarty holds a Certificate in Critical Research from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, which they obtained from 2022 to 2023. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire from 2018 to 2020. In 2009, they completed their Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design from the National College of Art and Design. Additionally, in 2012, they briefly studied Industrial and Product Design at the University of Lapland.

Ellen also possesses several additional certifications. In February 2022, they obtained a certification in Practical Statistics for User Experience from Udemy. In September 2021, they received a W3Cx WAI0.1x Certificate in Web Accessibility from edX. Prior to that, in October 2020, they completed a course on Communicating with Confidence from LinkedIn, as well as the Heap Foundations Exam. In September 2020, they acquired a certification in Facial Recognition with Keras from Coursera, and in April 2020, they completed the Intermediate Python course from DataCamp. Earlier in 2020, they also obtained an Introduction to Python certification from DataCamp. Furthermore, in October 2019, they completed the Intermediate R course, and in September 2019, they finished the Introduction to R course, both from DataCamp.
