Ron Coutts

Senior Geological Engineer at Matrix Solutions

Ron Coutts has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Ron started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Geo-Slope International Ltd. in 1995, where they worked until 2000. In 2001, they joined Quadrus Financial Technologies Inc. as a Senior Systems Analyst for a year before transitioning to Ardent Innovation Inc., where they worked as a Senior Geological Engineer. In 2002, Ron joined Envista Technologies Inc. and served as the Director of Product Development and Project Manager for the Kuwait EDMRAS Project until 2004. In the same year, they also joined Colt Engineering as a Geothermal Engineer for the Mackenzie Gas Project Pipeline until 2007. During this time, from 2004 to 2009, they also worked as a Permafrost/Geothermal Engineer at WorleyParsons. Ron then joined ConocoPhillips in 2008 and served as a Geothermal Engineer for the Denali Gas Pipeline Project until 2010. Ron continued their engineering career at TransCanada as a Permafrost Engineer for the Alaska Pipeline Project's Strain-Based Design Team from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, Ron joined Matrix Solutions Inc. as a Senior Geological Engineer and is still currently working there. Additionally, Ron has been a Board Member at the Calgary Flying Club since 2013, serving an elected term until 2016.

Ron Coutts has a solid education history, with their most recent degree being an M.Sc. in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained from 1989 to 1991. Prior to that, they completed their B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering, Co-Op Programme, from the same university from 1984 to 1989.
