Full Stack Software Engineer at Matroid

Andrew Ellison has a diverse work experience in software engineering, aerospace engineering, and research. Andrew began their career in 2015 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California San Diego, where they analyzed buckling and post-buckling of composite plates and shells due to thermal loading. In 2017 and 2018, they worked as a Research Intern at the NASA Langley Research Center, where they developed techniques to visualize and interpret non-destructive evaluation data, oversaw impact and compression testing of composite panels, and created tools to interpret non-destructive evaluation data to evaluate damage growth from a set of progressive testing. In 2020, they began working as an Aerospace Engineer at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Currently, they are a Full Stack Software Engineer at Matroid, Inc.

Andrew Ellison has obtained three degrees from UC San Diego. Andrew received a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering in 2015, a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering in 2017, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Aerospace Structural Engineering - Composites/Non-Destructive Evaluation in 2020. In addition, they obtained a certification from Udemy in SQL - MySQL for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence in November 2021.
