Sean T. Smith M.d.

Sean T. Smith, M.D. is a seasoned pediatrician currently serving as a staff pediatrician at Matthews-Vu Medical Group since July 2018. Previously, Sean held the position of Chief of the Department of Pediatrics at the US Army from August 2014 to July 2018, and served as a staff pediatrician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from August 2009 to July 2014, where responsibilities included training pediatric residents and providing care in a military hospital setting. Sean's extensive military background includes roles such as Chief of Pediatrics & Blue Eagle Clinic, Battalion Surgeon, and Brigade Surgeon, where duties encompassed acute and chronic care management for military families and deployed personnel. Sean graduated with a BS in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and earned an M.D. from the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine.
