Sonja Kluge - Berge

Sonja Kluge - Berge is a highly experienced professional in the field of food safety and animal health. Since July 2008, Sonja has served as a Senior Adviser and Head of Section at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, where responsibilities include overall coordination of international issues. Previously, from 2004 to 2007, Sonja worked as a Senior Adviser in the same authority, focusing on international matters. Earlier experience includes serving as Head of Section at the Norwegian Animal Health Authority from 1997 to 2003, overseeing the Department of Animal Health and Welfare, specifically the Section for Terrestrial Animal Health. Additionally, Sonja held the role of project manager and adviser, ensuring compliance with EEA legislation regarding food safety and veterinary inspection controls. Academic qualifications include a PH D in Food Hygiene from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science, an Approved Veterinary Specialist designation in Food Science, and a DVM from Freie Universität Berlin.
