Cassi Yamashita

Director, Community Service at Maui Economic Opportunity Inc

Cassiopia Yamashita was born and raised on the island of Maui. She is dedicated to serving others and lifting her community. Cassi began her career at MEO as a Dropout Prevention Program Specialist in the Youth Services Department in 2011. Over the years Cassi advanced her career, transitioning from a program specialist to a Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Program Coordinator in 2012 where she became the Maui Island Chairperson for the Hawaii’s Partners Preventing Underage Drinking, (HPPUD). She was promoted to Youth Services Director in 2014. During that time she became an Internationally Recognized Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) and Clinical Supervisor while serving on a number of community, youth and prevention coalitions. In 2017 she served on the County of Maui Commission on Children and Youth and was the Vice Chair for two years. Later that year, as a part of the agency's succession plan, Cassi was transferred to the Community Services Department as the Assistant Director. In 2018 she was promoted to Director.
