Dane Ka'ae

Director, Youth Services at Maui Economic Opportunity Inc

Dane Ka`ae was born on Oahu and raised on the Big Island. He joined the Youth Services Department in October 2010. Dane held positions in the department, including Underage Drinking Prevention program specialist and coordinator, before being promoted to Director in November 2017. Dane earned an Associate’s Degree from Kapi`olani Community College and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. He has been a contributor to articles published in the Hawai`i Journal of Medicine & Public Health and the Hawai`i Psychological Association. Since 2005, Dane has been a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Dane has over 15 years of experience mentoring, encouraging, and advocating for Hawaii’s youth and coached the Lady Tigers of McKinley High School in basketball for three seasons.
