Hanson began his career with Mauldin & Jenkins in 1989 and has thirty years of auditing, tax, and consulting experience primarily in the financial services area. He has been directly involved in and responsible for the ongoing service to financial institution clients that include various types of attest, tax, and advisory engagements. Current and previous engagements include opinion audits and tax services for private as well as SEC-registered companies, internal control opinion audits, broker-dealer audits, internal control advisory engagements, and de novo bank formations. In 2004, Hanson was appointed as the Partner-in-Charge of the Birmingham, Alabama office and in 2017, was elected as Managing Partner of the firm effective as of September 1, 2018. Hanson received his accounting degree from the University of Georgia in 1989 and his MBA from Georgia State University in 1998 and is a CPA in Georgia and Alabama.
