Mary Madera's work experience began in 2013 as an Anti-Trafficking Program Intern at TurnAround, Inc. Mary then served as a Student Ambassador & Program Assistant at the Global Education Office, Hampshire College in 2013-2014. In 2014, they worked as a Public Health Coordinator & Volunteer Coordinator at Warm Heart Worldwide, Inc. Later, they joined Tapestry Health as a Reproductive Health Counselor & Clinic Coordinator from 2015 to 2016. Mary Madera graduated from Hampshire College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Public Health. Prior to that, they attended Howard Community College from 2009 to 2012, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Sociology. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) in April 2021. In 2018, they also received certification as a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula from Warm Welcome Birth. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor from the Healthy Children Project Center for Breastfeeding, although the month and year of completion are not specified.
