Bassam El-Fahmawi

Bassam El-Fahmawi is the current President and CTO at Mawi DNA Technologies. Bassam has also previously served as the Director of Business Development at Bioneer Inc., the Business Development Manager at Corning Life Sciences, and the Product Manager at both Agencourt Bioscience and Beckman Coulter Genomics. Prior to their work in the private sector, Bassam was a research scientist at Norgen Biotek Corporation where they worked on product development and built the company's customer base.

Bassam El-Fahmawi has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology from the University of Alberta. Before that, they completed a Ph.D in Microbiology and Biotechnology from the University of Alberta. Bassam also has a Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from Kuwait University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Kuwait University.
