William Houlihan

Mr. Houlihan is an independent director and head of the Audit Committee at MAXEX. He also serves on the Compensation Committee and brings considerable accounting, community banking, mortgage finance and strategic advisory expertise to the Company. Mr. Houlihan was the chief financial officer of SPACs sponsored by Thunder Bridge that have completed multiple IPOs, PIPEs, and business combinations with technology related businesses. He is a board member of the Angel Pond Holdings SPAC that focuses on potential business combinations with technology related business based in China. Mr. Houlihan is a board member and head of the Audit Committee for Lument Finance Trust (a publicly owned mortgage REIT) and for First Physicians Capital Group, a healthcare services and investment company. He previously served on the board of Tiptree Financial, a publicly owned holding company for insurance, asset management, mortgage originations, and other businesses; Care Investment Trust, a publicly traded equity REIT; and SNL Financial, a privately-held fintech company that maintains a database of financial information on financial institutions, REITs, energy and media. Mr. Houlihan is a private investor and has served as transitional CFO for several distressed companies including two community banks, Amalgamated Bank in New York and Hudson United Bancorp in New Jersey, as well as Metris Companies (credit cards). He has held numerous accounting and auditing positions over more than 35 years in business and finance. Mr. Houlihan has expertise in investment banking for financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, UBS, JP Morgan Securities, KBW and Bear Stearns. Mr. Houlihan received a BS in Accounting from Manhattan College and an MBA in Finance from New York University Graduate School of Business.
