Sophie Archer

Sophie Archer currently serves as the Director of Translational Biology at Maxion Therapeutics since March 2025, previously holding a similar role at Crescendo Biologics Limited from May 2017 to October 2024. Throughout a distinguished career, Sophie has led in vitro pharmacology teams and contributed to translational preclinical biology and drug development across various areas, including immuno-oncology and pharmacokinetics. Earlier experience includes positions at UCB as a Research Scientist focusing on immunology and inflammation, as well as a PhD from the University of Bath, where research centered on innate immune cell behavior. Additional training includes an industrial trainee position at Novartis in respiratory biology. Educational qualifications comprise a Ph.D. and an MPharmacol (Hons.) from the University of Bath.
