Jacob Balma

Jacob Balma is a seasoned professional in the field of scientific research and engineering, currently serving as Lead Scientist at Maxwell Labs Inc since August 2021. Previous experience includes roles as HPC AI Engineering Researcher at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where work focused on performance benchmarking and optimization of parallel algorithms, and as a Performance Engineer at Cray Inc. with similar responsibilities. Prior to that, Jacob was a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota Duluth, contributing to statistical mechanics research in the Cosmology Group, and developed pattern-recognition algorithms at Fermilab as an undergraduate research assistant. Jacob holds two Bachelor's Degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth, one in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics and another in English Language and Literature.
