William Rieders

Director at May Institute

William Rieders is the current Director at May Institute. Prior to their current position, they served as Chief Strategy Officer, Global Corporate Development, and EVP Consumer Markets at Cengage Learning from December 2008 to July 2013. There, they were responsible for a $130 million portfolio including NetLearning, Computaught, HighBeam Questia, Ed2Go/Gatlin, and CengageBrain. William also led strategic planning efforts and drove the restructuring plan.

From January 2008 to December 2008, they were President at Nelson Education. William was chosen by the Board of Directors to lead the 12-month restructuring effort of the underperforming $200MM Canadian publishing business.

Before that, they were Managing Partner and Co-Head of San Francisco Office at The Parthenon Group from August 2000 to December 2007. William was also a Senior Principal at Analysis Group and Integral Consulting from August 1996 to July 2000.

William Rieders achieved a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Connecticut College.
