Elias Ghossein, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience that spans across multiple companies and roles. Elias is currently working at Maya HTT as the Principal Solution Architect & Team Lead for Customization Services since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Solution Architect and Technical Lead, where they conducted on-site audits of engineering simulation processes for global companies, automated workflows for customers/engineers, and identified software requirements. Between September 2015 and December 2017, Elias worked as a CAD/CAE Software Developer at Maya HTT, specializing in the development and customization of CAD/CAE NX Open applications. Additionally, they developed CAE applications in NX Laminate Composites.
Before Maya HTT, Elias held the position of an Application Engineer and Finite Element Tools Developer at Maya HTT starting from August 2014 until September 2015. In this role, they developed a stress processor tool for NASTRAN solutions and implemented progressive failure models for laminates in ABAQUS. Elias also engaged in consulting projects with the Canadian Space Agency.
In the academic field, Elias served as a Lecturer for the Mechanics of Nonlinear Materials course at Polytechnique Montréal since September 2015. For École Polytechnique de Montréal, they held various roles, including being the Responsible of Practical Work for Vibrations and Aeronautical Systems, Tutor for NSERC and Vanier scholarships, Practical Work Assistant for Mechanics of Nonlinear Materials, and Responsible of Practical Work for Mechanical Vibrations. Additionally, they acted as a Lecturer for the Finite Elements in Solid Mechanics course and managed coordination between the course and practical work on NASTRAN and ANSYS.
Before entering the academic field, Elias had part-time work and a summer internship at Maya HTT from 2009 to 2012. Elias also had a summer internship at Rolls-Royce in 2008.
Elias Ghossein, Ph.D. completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Composite Materials at Polytechnique Montréal from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Aerospace from Polytechnique Montréal between 2006 and 2010. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained certifications from Siemens Digital Industries Software, including the Siemens Digital Industries Software PreSales Associate Certificate in 2023 and the Siemens Presales Associate certification in 2022.
