Yarelis Nazario Santana

Yarelis Nazario Santana is an experienced animal care professional currently serving as Animal Keeper II at Maymont since September 2021, where responsibilities include animal care, behavioral training, record keeping, and veterinary care. Previously, Yarelis worked as an Animal Care Intern at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, focusing on animal husbandry and dietary management. Additional experience includes serving as an Administrative Assistant in the Hispanic Studies Department at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and as an Agronomer Assistant at Martinez Dairy, where Yarelis managed animal nutrition and herd health. Yarelis holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, completed in 2019.
