Ray Stevens

Ray Stevens has a diverse and extensive legal career, serving as a Judge at the South Carolina Administrative Law Court from April 1995 to December 2005. Following this, Ray held the position of Director and Administrator of Appeals at the South Carolina Department of Revenue from January 2006 to December 2010. Ray transitioned to private practice as a Partner at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP from January 2011 to April 2018. Currently, Ray serves as Senior Counsel at Nexsen Pruet, LLC since April 2020 and at Maynard Nexsen PC since April 2023, specializing in State and Local Tax (SALT) matters including controversies, litigation, incentives, and planning. Ray holds an ML&T in Taxation from The College of William and Mary - Marshall Wythe Law School and an MBA in Business and Accounting from the University of South Carolina - The Moore School of Business.
