John Monk

John Monk has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. John currently works as a Lead Software Engineer at Mayo Clinic Rochester, a position they have held since November 2020.

Prior to that, John was a Senior Solutions Architect at Nasuni from January 2019 to March 2020. In this role, they provided strategic leadership and direction in the design and implementation of cloud-based file system solutions for clients.

From April 2012 to December 2018, John worked as a Systems Engineering Manager at Commvault. Their responsibilities included overseeing the performance and delivery of a team of Senior Presales Engineers and managing key accounts focused on Fortune 500 companies.

Before joining Commvault, John worked at EMC as a Technology Consultant from August 2005 to April 2012. In this role, they delivered presales engineering and architecture of information management solutions for EMC's largest clients.

John also served as the Executive Director of World Wide IT at Pemstar from May 2001 to August 2005, where they oversaw all IT activities globally and reported directly to the COO.

Furthermore, John has experience as the Director of ASP Operations at Interelate from August 1999 to May 2001, where they designed and built hosting environments for web-enabled business analytics software solutions.

Prior to that, they worked as a Program Manager at United Defense from August 1997 to August 1999, responsible for the creation of an automated crew station training system for the Crusader Howitzer System.

Earlier in their career, John served as a Lead Software Developer/Project Manager at Mystech Associates from August 1993 to 1997, where they worked on Army Simulation development projects. John also worked as an adjunct professor at Western International University from March 1994 to August 1996, teaching computer programming and architecture classes.

John's career began in the US Army, where they served as a Field Artillery Officer from May 1983 to August 1993, holding various leadership and staff positions.

John Monk has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. John also holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technologies from The United States Naval Postgraduate School, and an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.
