Tulsi Patel

Tulsi Patel is an experienced researcher in the field of genetics and neurobiology, currently serving as an Instructor and Research Fellow at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since June 2021, focusing on genetic analyses related to Alzheimer's Disease. Additionally, Patel has been a Research Collaborator and Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic since March 2018, investigating gene expression in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Previous academic experience includes a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Nottingham, where extensive analysis of whole-exome sequencing data was conducted to identify genetic variants related to Alzheimer’s disease. A Bioinformatics Internship at the University of Cambridge involved scripting and analysis of ChIP-seq data to study transcription factors. Educational background encompasses a Master's degree in Computational Biology from the University of York and a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Central Lancashire.
