Michelle Wood has a diverse work background in the financial industry and non-profit sector. Michelle started their career at CommunityAmerica Credit Union as a Branch Sales employee, later transitioning to the role of Branch Manager. Michelle then moved on to become the Sales Training/Employee Development Director at the same credit union. In 2010, Michelle became a member of the Board of Directors for the Northland Early Education Center, where they served as Treasurer for a year and then President for two years. In 2014, they started their own business called Thrive Coaching and Consulting. Michelle's most recent position is as the Chief Culture Officer & Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Mazuma Credit Union.
Michelle Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from The University of Kansas. In 2014, they obtained a Leadership Coaching Certification from Avila University. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including being a Credit Union Development Educator from The National Credit Union Foundation in 2022, a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University in October 2021, a Bringing Baby Home Educator certification from The Gottman Institute in November 2014, a Gottman Seven Principles Program Educator certification from The Gottman Institute in November 2014, and a Certified Myers-Briggs Practitioner certification from CPP, Inc. in March 2012.
