Veronica Pessino

Veronica Pessino, PhD, serves as the Chief Operating Officer at MBF Bioscience since July 2025, bringing extensive experience in leadership roles within scientific and analytical domains. Previously, Veronica held the position of Chief Operating Officer and Founding Partner at Plinth from October 2023 to July 2025, a company focused on delivering insights from real-world data. Prior to that, Veronica was the Chief Operating Officer at Neurophotometrics LLC, overseeing advancements in optical and behavioral research tools, and at Swab56, where efforts concentrated on producing COVID-19 testing swabs. Veronica began a neuroscience postdoctoral research position at the Salk Institute, securing substantial funding and contributing to significant publications, and previously conducted graduate research at UCSF and undergraduate research at UC Santa Barbara. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Molecular Biology and Physics from UC Santa Barbara.
