David L. Ciesielski is a partner with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Mr. Ciesielski has comprehensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in various technical fields that include the electrical, mechanical, electrical-mechanical, telecommunications, and software arts. He also has experience preparing and prosecuting design patent applications at the United States Patent Trademark Office and registering industrial designs under the Hague Agreement at the World Intellectual Property Office. Mr. Ciesielski works with foreign associates worldwide to assist clients in building and maintaining global patent portfolios including utility patents and industrial designs.
Mr. Ciesielski has extensive experience in registering claims to copyright in clients’ works of authorship. He also performs analyses for generating opinions with respect to issues of patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom to operate.
Prior to joining MBHB, Mr. Ciesielski was a systems engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems for twelve years and an automotive technician at various General Motors dealerships for four years. While with Delphi Automotive Systems, he worked on vehicle electronic modules for the following products and systems: audio systems, antilock brakes, body control modules, engine control modules, entertainment systems, powertrain control modules, supplemental inflatable restraint systems, and telematics systems.
