William Makopo

William Makopo is an experienced mining professional currently serving as General Manager at Mbuyelo Coal since September 2023. Previously, William held the position of Mine Manager at African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation from May 2021 to September 2023. Prior to that, William worked at Glencore Coal where roles included Acting Production Manager and Production Superintendent from May 2015 to May 2021, managing various sections including Dragline and Rehabilitation. William's career began as a Junior Mining Engineer at Glencore from January 2013 to May 2015 and included experience as an Academic Instructor at the University of Pretoria. William holds a Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Pretoria and a PMD in Business Administration and Management from GIBS Business School.
