Alec Simantov

Director, Research Universities Practice at McAllister & Quinn

Alec Simantov has a range of experience in research, analysis, and program development. In 2008, they started as an Administrative Assistant at ITAP International. Alec then held various intern and research positions at organizations such as the Project On Middle East Democracy, Heinrich Böll Foundation, and Atlantic Council of the United States. In 2013, Alec worked as a Communications Assistant at the International Budget Partnership. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Research Associate at ACG Analytics. Alec then spent several years at StateScape, where they progressed from an Associate Analyst to a Lead Team Analyst. Most recently, in 2022, they joined McAllister & Quinn as a Senior Research Analyst and later as the Director of the Research Universities Practice. Alec's roles have involved conducting research, analyzing federal funding programs, monitoring grant opportunities, and supporting client activities.

Alec Simantov completed their Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in 2008, with a double major in Linguistics and History. Alec then pursued a Master of Public Policy degree from the George Mason University - Schar School of Policy and Government, specializing in International Governance & Institutions from 2010 to 2012. Alec also obtained additional certifications, including the AI Foundations: Prompt Engineering from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in August 2023, and the Business Analytics Science Certificate from the University of Delaware in February 2023.
