Jamie Boehmer has a diverse work experience in the fields of scientific research, grants editing, and program management. They served as a Managing Director at McAllister & Quinn starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BioScience Writers, LLC as a Grant Editor from December 2014 to November 2022, where they reviewed and edited scientific documents and ensured adherence to linguistic and formatting standards. Jamie also worked at the University of Arizona, where they held roles such as Executive Director of Biomedical, Clinical & Health Sciences Research & Business Development, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Senior Research Associate, and Research Associate. At the University of Arizona, they were involved in various research proposal development, coordination, and implementation activities. Jamie also worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Scientific Program Manager and Health Science Specialist, managing research portfolios, coordinating with stakeholders, and handling policy matters. Jamie started their career as a Faculty Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where they focused on investigating genes related to cell death and development.

Jamie Boehmer earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Maryland. After completing their undergraduate studies, Jamie went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Dairy Science with a focus on Genetics at Virginia Tech from 1997 to 1999. Following this, Jamie further advanced their education by obtaining a PhD in Animal Science with a specialization in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland between 2005 and 2009.
