Tarique Khawaja

Tarique Khawaja has a diverse work experience in credit risk management, commercial lending, and personal banking. Currently, they are serving as the Director of Credit Risk Management at MCAN Financial Group, where they oversee credit requests in various sectors and provides strategic direction to the credit risk function. Tarique also delivers credit risk training sessions and prepares reports for regulatory bodies. Prior to this, Tarique worked at Assiniboine Credit Union, where they held multiple roles, including Manager of Commercial Credit Solutions, Commercial Credit Adjudicator, and Underwriter of Commercial Banking. In these positions, they led teams, managed portfolios, and streamlined processes. Earlier in their career, Tarique was an Account Manager of Personal Banking at RBC.

Tarique Khawaja completed their education with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Manitoba in 2014. Tarique then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance from the same university, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, Tarique has acquired certifications in Credit Union Commercial Lending, Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Investments Funds in Canada, Personal Financial Planning I, and Personal Financial Services Advice (PFSA).
