Sofia Alexandra Cortes, MPH, currently serves as a Senior Consultant at McBride since March 2025. Prior experience includes a role as a Program Analyst at USAID in January 2025, where analysis of health workforce data informed HIV/AIDS programmatic decisions. At Banyan Global from May 2021 to January 2025, Sofia led program coordination and technical assistance for USAID’s Health Workforce Management project in Nigeria, overseeing various initiatives in human resources for health and contributing to communications and financial management. Previous positions include consulting for the World Health Organization and Pan American Health Organization, as well as COVID-19 case investigation for the Virginia Department of Health. Sofia holds an MPH in Global Health Policy from The George Washington University and a BA in Psychology and Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley.
