Aisha Shabazz serves as the Day Program Manager at McClendon Center since September 2019, where responsibilities include coordinating intakes, reviewing treatment plans, and providing clinical supervision to staff and volunteers. Aisha also collaborates with nursing and medical teams for psychiatric and primary care management. In addition, Aisha has held the position of Director of Day Services and Jewelry Designer at Karmic Kollections since September 1996. Aisha holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Morgan State University, completed in 1993.

For more than 40 years, we've been meeting those most vulnerable in our community at their point of need, regardless of their means. McClendon Center works to improve the health and well-being of men and women who are mentally ill, economically disadvantaged, and are often the most vulnerable in our Washington, DC community. Long before ‘integrated behavioral healthcare’ models, McClendon Center has been addressing our clients’ medical needs in addition to their mental health. Since receiving our initial Joint Commission* accreditation in 1999, we continue to be the only independent mental health provider in DC to be so accredited. By providing treatment for our clients’ mental illnesses, and addressing their other needs (such as primary care, housing, socialization), we can help them dramatically improve their quality of life.
