Alina Holyk

Assistant Clinical Director at Haymarket Center

Ms. Alina Holyk directs a full range of Haymarket Center’s Residential and Support Services for men and women in treatment and recovery from substance use disorder and mental health disorders. She oversees a number of Haymarket programs, including its men’s residential treatment, men’s rapid stabilization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, DUI counseling, and integrated men’s and integrated women’s programs. Ms. Holyk provides direct clinical supervision to Haymarket’s program coordinators, supervisors, counselors and other clinical staff to ensure the effective delivery of integrated substance use treatment, medical and psychiatric care in both residential and outpatient programs. She provides bilingual counseling and translation support for Polish-speaking clients, and coordinates services for clients with limited English proficiency (LEP) of Russian and Eastern European origin.

A National Certified Counselor (NCC), Ms. Holyk has served on the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) since 2008. In 2007, she was received the Haymarket Center Award in recognition for her outstanding contributions to the field of substance use disorder. She is an Illinois licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and has been certified in Mental Health First Aid, Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), and Crisis Prevention. Ms. Holyk is a prolific speaker and consultant on mental health and substance use issues, presenting at Haymarket Summer Institute in 2001 and consulting with Polish-language radio WPNA 1490 AM and Dziennik Zwiazkowy, a Polish-language daily. She also consults with the Abstinent Club in Warsaw, Poland.

Ms. Holyk joined Haymarket in 2000 as supervisor in the agency’s Alternative to Incarceration program, and served as program coordinator and manager of residential support services before assuming the role of assistant clinical director in 2018. Prior to joining Haymarket, she counseled individuals and families, and provided DUI counseling services at Tarnowski Counseling and Clinical Services. A native of Poland, Ms. Holyk earned an MA in psychology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland as well as an MA in community counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.
