McDonough District Hospital
Lindsey Schafer is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in physical therapy and athletic training. Currently serving as a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapy Specialist at McDonough District Hospital since June 2019, Lindsey is also involved in high school athletic outreach. A Certified Athletic Trainer, Lindsey has developed rehabilitation plans, performed injury evaluations, provided event coverage, and collaborated with an interdisciplinary team. Previous roles include an Athletic Training Intern at Advance Physical Therapy, an Occupational Athletic Trainer Intern at Dot Foods, and a Student Athletic Trainer at Western Illinois University, where Lindsey gained practical experience handling injuries and supporting athletic teams. Lindsey is currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at South College, building on a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Western Illinois University.
