AJ Hickcox began their work experience in 2008 as a Production Intern at Leo Burnett. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Process Engineer at Phototype. In 2012, they served as a Strategy Intern at McKinney, and in 2013, they held a similar role at Wieden + Kennedy. In 2014, they joined McGarrah Jessee as a Junior Strategist, and in 2015, they became a Brand Strategist at the same company. They briefly worked as a Brand Strategist at 22squared in 2015 before returning to McGarrah Jessee as a Senior Strategist in 2017. From 2019 to 2022, AJ served as an Associate Strategy Director, and as of January 2022, they have been working as a Strategy Director at McGarrah Jessee.
AJ Hickcox completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications from Clemson University, from the years 2004 to 2008. Afterward, from 2011 to 2013, Hickcox attended VCU Brandcenter, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Strategy.
