Charles McGivney

Chuck McGivney is a Senior Partner in MKCI’s Florham Park, NJ office, and founded MKCI in 1994. He is a successful, experienced civil trial attorney, and has represented a wide array of clients on the trial and appellate levels of both State and Federal courts in a number of jurisdictions. Specializing in the defense of toxic tort, product liability, and general liability matters, Chuck has successfully served as trial counsel in asbestos, professional liability claims, lead personal injury matters, repetitive stress, sick building syndrome, silica, chemical exposure litigation, and Child Victim Act claims, as well as on complex products liability, life insurance coverage, fire loss, subrogation, and negligence matters. He has successfully tried asbestos, lead, general liability personal injury claims, and toxic tort matters in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The founding partner does considerable work for the insurance industry. He is actively in charge of the defense of multiple asbestos clients as National Coordinating Counsel, as well as local counsel in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Currently, Chuck is also handling particularly dangerous, high-profile claims in the general liability arena.

A prolific author, Chuck has written many treatises on the above areas of practice and lectured extensively before the insurance industry on the methods of evaluating and defending various claims. He has also presented at seminars in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston and London regarding a wide variety of topics involving asbestos, product liability and general liability.

Chuck has been selected as a “Super Lawyer”* by the relevant publication in their New York, New Jersey, and New York Metro editions each year, beginning in 2009. He is a member of the Product Liability and Toxic Tort Committees of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the New Jersey Defense Association.

Chuck is married to Randi McGivney and enjoys the outdoors; hiking, kayaking, fishing and camping with his family and trusty Golden Retriever.

Chuck received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and graduated from the Villanova University School of Law.
