James Popovits

James Popovits has a comprehensive work experience in law enforcement at the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and McHenry County Sheriff's Dept. James started their career at the McHenry County Sheriff's Dept. in 1999 as a Lieutenant and served until 2022. Recently, in 2022, they joined the McHenry County Sheriff's Office as the Chief of Operations.

James Popovits completed their Bachelor's of Business in Economics at Western Illinois University from 1995 to 1999. Later, they attended the FBI NA #247 in 2011 and the Senior Management Institute for Police in 2013, both focused on Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. In 2016 to 2017, James pursued further education at the School of Police Staff and Command Class #407 at Northwestern University, specializing in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration.
