Kathy A. is an experienced educator and customer service professional with a diverse background spanning various roles in education and management. Currently serving as a Substitute Teacher for McHenry School District 15 since October 2021, Kathy has also worked as a Garden Associate, Cashier, and Customer Service representative at Home Depot since August 2018. Additionally, Kathy has been a Substitute Teacher in middle and secondary education since September 2014 and previously taught at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church's Before and After School Program. Kathy's extensive experience includes substitute teaching for special needs students at Montini Middle School and owning a business at Lee and Ray Electric. Recognized for innovative staff development practices and financial responsibility, McHenry Elementary School District 15 is a continuously evolving school district serving approximately 5,000 students in grades PreK-8th grade, located 50 miles northwest of Chicago. McHenry Elementary School District 15 offers on-going staff development and mentoring programs to all of our teachers while enhancing the learning environment and creating a positive atmosphere. McHenry Elementary School District 15 also honors diversity by our commitment to second language acquisition using a transitional bilingual program of instruction that includes native language instruction through a developmental model and ESL services. Through our rigorous curriculum, Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) and a full continuum of special education services, we meet the needs of all students residing in our district.
