Russel May

Russel May currently serves as the Senior Director of Safety and Security for McKinney ISD, overseeing safety operations across 31 campuses for 24,000 students and 3,200 employees, while managing an annual budget of nearly $2 million. Prior to this role, Russel May held multiple positions within the City of McKinney from 2004 to 2023, including Sergeant in various divisions such as Investigations, Intelligence, and Traffic, where management of 15 direct reports and a $125K grant budget was essential. Additional experience includes serving as a Task Force Officer for the United States Marshals Service with a 98% success rate in fugitive apprehensions, and as a Corporal and Narcotics Investigator for Grayson County Sheriff from 1997 to 2004. Russel May also worked briefly as a Federal Air Marshal in 2002, ensuring safety on commercial flights. Educationally, Russel May holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma.
