Teresa Gunn

Teresa Gunn has a diverse work experience in the field of genetics and genomics. Teresa currently holds the position of Professor and Translational Genetics & Animal Resource Core Director at the McLaughlin Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences, where they have been since August 2021. Prior to this role, they served as Associate Professor and Transgenic Facility Director at the same institute from August 2009 to August 2021.

Teresa also has experience in various leadership roles within the INTERNATIONAL MAMMALIAN GENOME SOCIETY INC. Teresa was the President from January 2015 to December 2016, and then served as the Past-President from January 2017 to November 2018. Additionally, they held the position of President-Elect at the International Mammalian Genome Society from January 2013 to December 2014.

Before joining the McLaughlin Research Institute, Teresa worked at Cornell University as an Assistant Professor from June 2001 to July 2009. During their time there, they also served as a Faculty Advisor for the Transgenic Mouse Facility in 2007 and 2008.

Teresa's work experience began at Stanford University, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Associate from November 1995 to June 2001.

Teresa Gunn obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology (Human Genetics) from McGill University, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Genetics at The University of British Columbia and completed their studies from 1990 to 1995.
