Elizabeth Alvarez

Elizabeth Alvarez is a highly accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in academia and clinical practice. Currently serving as the Director of the Master of Public Health Program and an Associate Professor at McMaster University since September 2015, Elizabeth Alvarez has previously held the position of Assistant Professor in the same department. Prior to academia, Elizabeth Alvarez worked at Hamilton Health Sciences as an OR Assistant for Orthopaedics and served as a Family Physician in multiple clinics in Hamilton, ON. Additional experience includes roles such as Associate Medical Officer of Health at Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Associate Chief of Medicine at the University of Toledo Student Health Clinic. Elizabeth Alvarez holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Policy from McMaster University, along with a BS, MD, and MPH from The University of Toledo.
