Melike Yilmaz

Research Coordinator at McMaster University

Melike Yilmaz currently serves as the Founding Research Coordinator at the Centre for Human Rights and Restorative Justice at McMaster University, a position held since July 2018. In addition, Melike is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in History, a sessional faculty member for the McMaster Intersession, and a Global Ambassador for the university. Additionally, Melike works as a researcher for the Transitional Justice Research Project funded by UNDP, and has collaborated on the Participedia Project Phase 2, receiving support from SSHRC. Other roles include Interpreter at ITS Hamilton Interpretation & Translation Services and past positions as Director of the Institute of Languages and African Studies at Regent University College of Science and Technology, Assistant Professor at Gediz University, and Senior Lecturer at Nile University of Nigeria. Education includes a PhD in Comparative Literature, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in English Language and Literature from Istanbul University.
