Kemka Hekerem MD, MPH, MRO, CHCQM has extensive work experience in various medical roles. From 2016 to the present, they have worked as an Urgent Care Physician at Memorial Herman Urgent Care, where they provide immediate medical service to outpatients and coordinate with patients and families to gather medical history information. Prior to that, from 2012 to the present, they served as the Medical Director at Excel Urgent Care, overseeing the provision of high-quality medical care and documenting necessary forms for injured workers. In 2021, they joined MCMC as an Associate Medical Director, where they review insurance plan guidelines and approve or deny service requests based on medical guidelines. In 2015, they worked as a Physician at the Occupational Medical Care Clinic, providing direct care to patients and coordinating with employers for reimbursement and patient care. Additionally, in August 2012, Hekerem obtained certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist from the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation. Lastly, in December 2015, Hekerem received certification in Occupational Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
