Larry Bowers

Larry Bowers has over 40 years of work experience in the environmental and engineering fields. Larry has held various management positions in companies such as McWane, Inc, where they currently serve as the Corporate Environmental Compliance Director, providing technical support in various environmental areas. Larry has also worked as the Senior Solid Waste Specialist for the Tennessee Valley Authority, overseeing solid waste compliance and permitting efforts. Larry has served as the Vice President of Global Environmental Solutions, Inc, managing their Tennessee operations and leading their efforts in waste management and environmental systems. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Environmental, Safety, Risk Management and Engineering for Wheland Automotive Industries, where they had corporate responsibility for compliance, safety, risk management, and engineering. Larry started their career in government positions, including being the Natural Resources Manager for TDEC, where they played a key role in establishing the Tennessee Aquatic Resource Alteration Permit program and was involved in writing regulations.

Larry Bowers has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they obtained from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Tennessee Technological University, where they studied from 1973 to 1977.
