Laurie Chappell

Laurie Chappell serves as the Senior Director of New Business at MDA Space since March 2021, bringing extensive experience in the aerospace sector. Previously, Laurie held the Senior Director positions in Civil Space at Maxar Technologies, managing business development operations and strategy. Prior roles at SSL included technical leadership in emerging markets, business development for space robotics, and contributions to product strategy for new satellite systems. Laurie began a career at MDA, leading various high-profile projects, including the DARPA Phoenix program and robotic servicing for the Hubble Space Telescope. Academic qualifications include a Master of Applied Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, along with a course in interpersonal and business communication from Stanford University.
