Prior to joining MDEC, he has held Directorships and Senior Management positions in various industries in both the public and private sectors as well as Government agencies.

Amiruddin is a corporate strategist who is skilled and possess extensive experience in Corporate Management, Finance, Corporate Finance, and Investment.

He is also a Professional Chartered Accountant with over two decades worth of experience and expertise in the corporate and innovation ecosystems, and a certified coach/mentor.

Prior to joining MDEC, he has held Directorships and Senior Management positions in various industries in both the public and private sectors as well as Government agencies. He was formerly the Acting CEO of Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre Berhad (MaGIC).

His familiarity across the innovation and creativity aspect of entrepreneurship and its capacity and ecosystem development activities involving startups, venture capitals/business angels and capacity builders has led him to founding ASFO Global Technologies Sdn Bhd, a commercialisation advisory that aims to help startups and SMEs to grow in a sustainable ecosystem.

His interest also extends to assisting Social Enterprise (SE) initiatives across Malaysia. His experience in the private and public sector helped him play his part in developing the SE ecosystem in Malaysia.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Applied Finance and Investment and a degree in Accounting from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). While working with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), he received his Executive Diploma in Investment Analysis from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

Beyond business, Amiruddin is passionate about sports, sitting as a Board Member of the Institut Sukan Negara (ISN). His involvement with ISN is aligned with the organisation’s focus in the development of sports, sports management, sports medicine, sports R&D&C&I and other sports-related activities in Malaysia.
