Roy McMorran

As Director of Information Technology, Roy McMorran manages IT operations at the MDI Biological Laboratory.  

A ‘hands on’ manager, Roy is responsible for the entire IT infrastructure at the institution including networking, servers and data storage, telephones and audio-visual, end user support, IT strategy and budgeting, procurement, and vendor/service management.

Roy joined the MDI Biological Laboratory IT department in 2005 as a Senior Systems Administrator, with a focus on server and database administration. In 2014 he was promoted to the role of Director. Roy is a 1989 graduate of Northeastern University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  Prior to joining the MDI Biological Laboratory, he was a Senior Systems Administrator at Biogen, Inc. in Cambridge, MA.
