Alan Cohen M.D.

Alan Cohen MD is a seasoned psychiatrist with extensive experience in various psychiatric roles. Currently serving as a psychiatrist with the Registry of Physician Specialists since April 2020 and as an independent contractor since December 2019, Alan previously retired from full-time practice with Alameda County in December 2019. Alan held the position of Lead Psychiatrist at Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services from April 2002 to December 2019. Earlier career highlights include private practice with Comprehensive Psychiatric Services and an attending physician role at UCSF Medical Center. Alan's academic credentials include a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, followed by residency and fellowship training in psychiatry at UCSF and the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital, respectively. Alan also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with honors from Oberlin College.
